I’m confident in my ACIC investment because of the secure bottom line and the way I’m kept informed by my ACIC agent, who has also become a trusted friend.”
ACIC was founded in Vancouver, BC in 1998 by Don Bergman. Don has had a long and varied career in finance and securities. In the 1990s, Don was a partner in a Vancouver securities firm. When the firm was sold in 1998, Don’s investors asked if he could create another real estate investment that would provide them with a steady stream of income.
That’s how ACIC began. With the introduction of new CRA rules regarding Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs), Don felt this was his cue to create a unique investment geared to investors who seek both capital preservation and better-than-average returns.
For the first 5 years, ACIC was comprised mainly of Don’s previous clientele. In 2003, Don relocated himself and the head office up to Salmon Arm, in the interior of British Columbia. It was in this great-weather, great-golfing retiree paradise that Don was able to see that more Canadians could benefit from an ACIC investment. So he opened it up to the public.
By our fiscal year end of September 30, 2011, ACIC had assets of $30 million that we lend out to finance Canadian real estate projects. This creates jobs and helps fuel economic growth. Find out what ACIC can do for you.
