Canadians scored right on the average mark across thirteen countries in a financial literacy survey recently conducted by UK-based research firm TNS. Average in this context, however, translated into only 13 per cent of respondents correctly answering what TNS described as basic risk-literacy questions. One question, for example, related to the relative risk of investing in a single stock compared to a basket of stocks.
